Special Ed dropped by IndieSent back when we did it on the Fire Escapes! Ed talked about being locked down at the Dial A Cab lab, working with his brothers, working at Profile records and more. Special Ed also talked about influences, lyrics (Sombody want Lyrics?), and keeping it real. As an added bonus, we caught up with Special Ed again at the benefit for Hale House, doing the "star/fashion model" thang! He was on point, lookin out for indie and giving us a drop for his newest single! So check out the abbreviated interview transcription, which will have pix from both the original interview as well as from the drops at Hale House AND his onstage Kani look! Coming SOON! to the IndieSent Exposure Web Page! http://www.cris.com/~indiesen/exposure.shtml.. Peace, Darrell
Monifah stretched out on the couch and dropped the 411 to B-High! This time the interview was taped for the Grand Finale!! Monifah spoke about the album, the last single, the new single (at the time was You), the re-mix with AZ and more! Filming in the 'hood, keeping it true to yourself, and respecting the fans were also important points she wanted to make! And "I" for one have to disagree with Bless, Monifah is not a chickenhead from the ghetto, but a talent who transends labels! & while she didn't share the earth with us, (I didn't ask, she didn't ask, BUT it WAS after the Smoothe interview so the smell of Ganja was thick in the air) I still respect the Sister, and wish her nuttin the best in the future! (This should ALSO lay to rest that I only interview artists I can smoke with! It's Bullshit!) B-High
Jarralle Griffin, the incredible, master DJ, MixTape master, and Playback king, accompanied B-High to a new studio, and stepped in for the interview chores for a Grand, Grand Finale! He walked in cold, (He was just gonna hang with B-High) and knocked of 3 interviews. No preperation, no research, no run-through, nuttin!!! And still ALL THREE (3) interviews made it on the air! And while they may not have been the most technically correct interviews, there is some damn fine information disseminated from a slightly different point of view! The first interview of the day was with Shabazz the Disciple (last seen in Motherless Child video), did the gravediggaz verse (which he discusses in the interview) and now has his own joint on Penalty Records! Jarralle asks some insightfull questions, and even gets into some philosophical shit with Shabazz!, who gives the 1st time interviewer his props for seeing what others may miss! B-High
The Bushwackass FUCKIN RULE!!!!!! Yes, finally, comming to the Web, the Bushwackas final interview! Hosted by Dulcie C. and held at the offices of HGC, 2/3 of the Bushwackas got together to catch B-High up on what they have been up to, and why what should have been the next brothers to BLOW THE FUCK UP, is still burnin fuse!!! Anyone who caught , Caught up in the game, the Bushwackas last single/video, produced by BuckWild, knows the song kicked ASS on the ultra-reality tip!! Done at an actual prison, (Brooklyn Correctional Facility), the single/video spoke of a truth, that goes beyond gats and shit! To me, true ghetto poets, B.D. Buggz and Fish B One sealed that, when, after the Grand Finale interview, they went into the stairways and re-created the "Banging on the Project Doors" period of their careers with a knockdown, dragout, barroom brawl of a freestlye rap!! That piece STILL gets the most calls, ranging from those brothas ARE real, to those guys scare me! depending where you sit on the Hip Hop fence! So now, those on the web, can get a taste of the Bushwackas! But get the video! and see and hear for yourselves! SOON to COME! A TRANSCRIPTION of the actual verses! NOW HEAR! The actual Freestyle, bringing back memories of the Knockin on the Project Doors period in their lives!!! 2/3 of the Bushwackas in one of their LAST flows!!!!
