It should be obvious to everyone (even if you've been "away" the past year) that the Wu-Tang Clan has returned and maintained Rap's influence in the East Coast.
While no one can deny that Biggie also had a killer year in the Nickel, (After Ready 2 Die but before biggie BLEW the fuck up) it was the Clan, together and alone that kept East Coast Hip-Hop PUMPIN!! First we entered the 36 chambers, those of us lucky enough to have entered them with Wu-Tang Records may indeed have a collectors item in their hands! Thinking back, its hard to miss that killer beast potential that lay sleeping in that group. I mean Wu-Tang slit like a razor, no doubt, but that they would chop to pieces the memory and comparisons to that other group of rappers from the west coast in slightly more than 1 year is crazy amazing!
Of course I'm speaking of the original Rap Supergroup, either in their 1st or last form, (the only difference being the lyrical talents of the D.O.C.. replacing the lyrical talents of Ice Cube. Both versions were beyond dope, but Niggaz 4Life was definitely the best work they've done. But that classic work doesn't stand up to the barrage that is Wu! And NWA splintered b4 Niggaz... and fell apart after! Wu, no matter what the rumors say, still seem committed to the next Wu project!(This was 2 years before Wu-Tang Forever but even then, simple niggaz biting that Wu-Tang broke up garbage, since Meth hit the studios!!) And with the Rza already a force in Video production, with ODB promising to do the same, with the ReMixes, the collaborations, and everything else Wu (Sunz of Man, Royal Fam, Wu-All Starz for 3 comes to mind) it's easy to believe ODB when he said on IndieSent
"You CAN'T kill WuTang "You'd rather kill Elvis, or ANYONE else but Wu! There's no stopping Wu!"
